Kings Ripton Meeting of Electorate – Annual Parish Meeting
Press Release Subject: Kings Ripton Annual Parish Meeting
Date: Tuesday 17th May 2022
Residents of Kings Ripton are invited to attend the annual parish meeting which will be held at 7.00pm, at Kings Ripton Village Hall, School Lane, Kings Ripton, PE28 2NL.
Although the parish meeting is convened, chaired and minuted by the parish council, it is not a parish council meeting but a meeting of registered electors (including councillors who are registered electors).
The purpose is to enable registered electors to discuss parish affairs and to pass resolutions thereon. This meeting is also an opportunity for the parish council (and higher tiers of local government) and community group leaders to share news of their activities over the last year.
Anyone may attend but only registered electors in the parish of Kings Ripton may speak and vote.
A registered elector may ask questions of the council. These will usually be answered by the chairman, the parish clerk or a designated councillor. An elector may also make suggestions and comment on parish issues and propose resolutions.
Members of the press are welcome to attend.

Parish Council elections being held on the 5th May 2022
Please see the below information from Huntingdonshire District Council:-
Nomination Forms for Prospective Candidates
Nomination packs are available for downloading from the District Council’s website here. I have also attached a Word and PDF version, together with a covering letter for you to distribute and share. Please ensure that you select the Town or Parish Council pack. A key change from last time in 2018 is the inclusion of a ‘Home Address Form’, whereby candidates can opt not to have their home address made public, this means their address will not appear on the statement of persons nominated, notice of poll or the ballot paper.
Hand Delivery of Nomination Forms
Nomination forms for candidates are required to be hand delivered to the Council Offices in St Mary’s Street, Huntingdon. As we will be dealing with a large volume of nomination forms in a short period of time, only seven working days, it would help us if you could give some consideration to nominating one person to deliver all your nomination forms if possible.
I will also be encouraging the booking of appointments where possible. This can be done by calling the Elections Team to book an appointment on (01480) 388129 or alternatively email elections@huntingdonshire.gov.uk As before, the Elections Team will be available for an informal check of your completed nomination papers prior to submission.
Nomination papers can be delivered by hand from Monday 28 March 2022 but no later than 4pm on Tuesday 5 April 2022 during Office Hours of 9.00am until 5.00pm. The date of consent of the signed nomination paper should not be earlier than one month before the deadline for nominations.
Notices of Election
Notices of Election for the District Council and Town/Parish Council elections are attached for display in your parishes from Monday 28 March 2022, no earlier please.
Election Count
If your parish is contested and an election held, the counting of these votes will take place on Friday, 6 May 2022 at One Leisure St Ives.
If you are inexperienced in the nominations process, or simply need a reminder, please do not hesitate to get in contact as we will be more than willing to assist. Furthermore, please do not hesitate to contact myself or my Team by emailing elections@huntingdonshire.gov.uk or telephone (01480) 388129 if there are any other queries at this stage.
CAPALC will be hosting 2 prospective councillor sessions via zoom.
All prospective councillors from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are welcome to attend.
Saturday 5th March 2022 – 0930 til 1200
Wednesday 16th March 2022 – 1830 til 2100
Please contact the parsih Clerk to book onto this event.
